The conservators at LC2R hold degrees from the Université de Paris 1, Panthéon-Sorbonne; Master’s degrees in Conservation-Restauration des Biens Culturels, known as a diplôme d’Etat (DE). This is endorsed by the Ministry of Higher Education and Research(Enseignement Supérieur et de la Recherche)and recognised by the European Union; they havealso achieved doctorate level qualifications (previously known as Diplôme d’Études Approfondie 3rd cycle (DEA)). They are authorised by the Direction des Musées de France to carry out preventive conservation and proceed with the restoration of cultural property in the collections of Musées de France (article 13 3) of decree no. 2002-628 of 25th April 2002. They follow their profession’s code of ethics from the Conseil International des Musées ICOM.
LC2R has a scientific advisory board at its disposal, comprising heritage professionals (conservators, archaeologists, scientists etc.). It can also use its numerous partners (conservation-restoration laboratories, research centres, universities, factories, analysis laboratories, artist metalworkers, consultants, digitisation experts, designersetc.), according to its needs and demands.
